Principles of Good Governance for Chalet of San Marco Association Board

·      Operate with honesty, openness, and clarity of purpose.

·      Conduct business and meetings in an open and respectful manner.

·      Provide strong, proactive, and intelligent leadership to take the Chalet through the unknowns and challenges of the new Florida condominium recertification process.

·      Harness the expertise and experience of all Owners to provide broad diversity of thought, gender, and experience to the Chalet Board.

·      Use intelligent and proactive risk management to provide safety, security, and preservation of the Owners’ investment in the Chalet.

·      Make use of the technical and business expertise and experience available among the Chalet community of Owners.

·      Make intelligent use of external professional expertise with critical oversight – trust but verify advice with multiple opinions.

·      Build a cohesive, civil, respectful and mutually beneficial social community among Owners through open and active communication.

·      Develop and implement a forward-looking, prudent, and fiscally responsible program for facility remediation, maintenance and improvements in accord with Owners’ needs — make public as a living Master Plan.

·      Manage with facts and quantitative data, not just subjective opinion.

·      Proactively show the numbers and data on important issues.

·      Capture and rapidly publish in the official minutes the essence of all Board and Committee meetings to include: motions put forth for votes; salient positions brought up in discussion of resolutions; vote outcomes; and rationale for decisions made.
